Auto Track

SPS Technologies Corporation

A nice approach to Fleet tracking and using multiple technologies to accomplish a single task. (Do all GPS companies like Black backgrounds?) The demo download is worth looking at.

Mail Order

CDWComputer Discount Wharehouse is a large national company offering competative prices and
InsightInsight is another large firm that we use to ensure competative bids and occasionally to take advantage of their discount and auction section for great deals.
Surplus DirectSurplus direct offers some great deals on products that they buy in large job lots. This products are usually last months computers, factory refurbished, discontinued items, etc, but most come with factory warranties or Surplus Direct Warranties.

Newsgroups

Search Engines
Use these search engines to research postings in all the newsgroups:
Used by other search engines for newsgroups
Uses it's own engine - select Usenet search
Good Microsoft Newsgroups
Each of these newsgroups can be found in news.microsoft.com. Be sure to download all newsgroups and filter by type of group desired i.e. Word. For the links on the left, you should be able to click on one, and it will open the group in your news reader.

Okidata For years, has provided quality dot matrix printers. The most versatile product has been their OKI 320 and 321 9 pin dot matrix printers for everyday accounting applications.

Search Engines and Indexes

Alta VistaOne of my favorites, especially for Newsgroup searches.
AOL NetFindAOL's search engine uses Excite's engine for it's base.
ExciteReasonable search engine and categorizations. Excite ranks in the top 8 of all search engines.
Google The current top dog in the search engine business
InfoSeekMy Current favorite. This site adds new listings immediately, has anti-spamming tools built in, robots new sites quickly, has index style listings, and a powerful search engine. Besides, in a recent search for Beaufort South Carolina, our Beaufort On-Line Mall ranked 8 out of the top 20.
LycosImproving Search Site
Starting PointA nice looking site with a nice Hot Spots feature section. We were listed in their New Sites section on 12/1/97.
SCIway
South Carolina's Information Highway - A great index just for our home state.
YahooNo longer my favorite tool. Material is becoming out of date. There are dead links and new sites take up to 6 months to be listed. We are still not in the listing.

Shareware

TUCOWS Great Shareware site. This link brings you to an index that lists available sites by state to increase download speed.
Shareware.comOne of CNET's many sites. This offers a good overview of some of the shareware available for download.
Windows MagazineNicely done shareware site. Look for the many utilities created by the Windows Magazine writers, especially WinTune.

Play Incorporated (Snappy)Snappy set the pace in the portable, parallel port video capture card arena. It does what it's supposed to do, with easy set up and clear instructions.
Digital Vision (Computer Eyes)Digital Eyes has been around for several years and has introduced many products for graphic interfacing.
ATI TechnologiesATI Technologies is a big player in high end video and graphic cards.

Virus Scan Programs and Virus Newsgroups

Symantec Purchased one of the real early players in the virus scan business Norton's AntiVirus.
McAfeeHas become a very popular player in Virus scanning. Is a constant antagonist of Symantec.
Newsgroups These newsgroups have good information about the latest virus problems and are not tied to any specific vendor.
