. "Blog" can also be used as a verb, meaning to maintain or add content to a blog.
Blogs provide commentary or news on a particular subject such as food, politics, or local news; some function as more personal online diaries. A typical blog combines text, images, and links to other blogs, web pages, and other media related to its topic. The ability for readers to leave comments in an interactive format is an important part of many blogs.
Why did't we have a blog before?
For years we maintained Vision's site (and most others for that matter) using standard web development tools such as Dreamweaver, Front Page (now Expressions) and other static page development tools. Last year we started using the content management system Joomla to maintain our main site and develop new sites for customers needing inexpensive sites or sites needing special features. A couple of items were missing from Joomla's excellent native interface that made blogging difficult. This included commenting (now added using JomComment), Technorati pings (ability for other blogs to find out about us), chronoligical listings, etc. With the addition of MyBlog by Azrul, most of the common features are now built-in. Time will tell just how well this system works, but on the surface it looks very good. I'm sure we will report back on just how we like it several months from now.
Thank you again for taking the time to visit and read our blog. Please comment as you wish by using the links below. We'd love to hear from you.
